The idea
Sink Protocol sits where two genres meet. From Battleship it takes the grid, the coordinates and the tension of hidden information. From the Slay the Spire family it takes the hand, energy, turns and enemy intent. Every turn you decide which cards to spend to find, corner and sink a fleet you can't see.
What I do
This is a Hotan Game title built by a team of two, and I'm responsible for far more than code:
- Game design: rules, card systems, turn structure and how the two genres fit together.
- UI/UX design: every screen is designed by me in Figma, backed by a written design system and a research document that turns genre conventions into binding UI rules.
- Development: implementation in Unity and C#, including the UI layer that reproduces the Figma specs faithfully.
Design principles
Players already speak the language of both genres, so the interface speaks it too: two grids with distinct roles (your fleet, and a tracking grid of your own shots), letter × number coordinates, and a card hand that shows cost, effect and enemy intent at a glance.
